Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Railways announced that IndiaAI Mission has partnered with Parliament to utilise its data for the creation of indigenous artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Vaishnaw emphasised the need to create our own Large Language Model (LLM) as current open source technologies may not remain open in the future.
He highlighted that developing the country’s own graphics processing unit chip is very important and the government is actively working on it.
In addition, Vaishnaw suggested that OpenAI might change its name if it becomes a proprietary technology.
