Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is conducting feasibility studies on various routes for additional metro network in Bengaluru. It is scheduled for completion by July 2025 and the report is likely to be submitted to the government of Karnataka. The study includes traffic analysis, stations, cost and sustainability factor and is likely to be equivalent to a detailed project report.
The corridors being explored are 15 km route from Challaghatta to Bidadi in Ramanagara district, 24 km from Silk Institute to Harohalli (Kanakapura), 68 km from Kalena Agrahara – Bannerghatta National Park-Jigani-Anekal-Attibele-Sarjapur-Varthur-Kadugodi Tree Park, 11 km from Bommasandra to Atibele and 52.41 km from Madavara to Tumakuru.
Moreover, three more routes that are 6 km from Kadabgere to Taverakere, 6 km from Doddajala to Devanahalli and 15 km from K R Pura to Hoskote are also being explored under the study.
