The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation has commenced the cleaning of the drains in Kolhapur, Maharashtra on March 10, 2025. The work includes the cleaning of 476 small drains, 236 medium drains, and channels. Two earth-moving machines to undertake cleaning works in the big drains are being hired, and the work is likely to begin this month. Reportedly, the cleaning of 10 drains including Kanannagar, Phulewadi Ring Road, Shivshakti Colony, Ahilyadevi Holkar Nagar, Thombre Mala, Vetale Mala, Kasba Bawda, and Survenagar has already been completed.
Similarly, cleaning of 47 channels in wards including Chandreshwar Galli, Rankala Stand, Rankala Lake, Saneguruji Colony, Kasba Bawda, Sugar Mill, Phulewadi Ring Road, Kasba Bawda East, Survenagar, and Hanuman Mandir area has been completed.
