Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has signed a concession agreement with special purpose vehicle of Trident Agrocom Exports Private Limited and Man Infraconstruction Limited of Rs 2.85 billion for India’s first-of-its-kind export-import cum domestic agricultural commodity-based processing and storage facility. The project will be developed under a public-private partnership on design-build-finance-operate-transfer model.
The 27-acre agro-processing facility at JNPA is exempt from environmental clearance and coastal regulation zone constraints. Designed to handle 1.2 million tonnes of agricultural commodities annually, the facility will enable efficient processing, sorting, packing, and laboratory testing to ensure compliance with food safety and trade regulations.
