In an effort to improve the state’s connectivity and infrastructure, the government of Gujarat has unveiled two major highway projects worth Rs 962.4 billion.
The Somnath-Dwarka highway spans 680 km and is expected to cost Rs 571.2 billion. The Namo Shakti highway, which connects Deesa in Banaskantha to Pipavav, is a 430 km highway and is anticipated to cost Rs 391.2 billion.
Finalising the highway alignments over the next six months will be the first step. A detailed project report (DPR) will then be prepared, which will likely require a year to complete.
Furthermore, the government has also allocated Rs 5.20 billion from the newly established Rs 500 billion Developed Gujarat Fund for the development of these highways.
