The Saran district administration has undertaken measures to mitigate the persistent issue related to water drainage in and around the Chhapra Municipal Corporation area in Bihar. The authorities have released a Vision Document as a comprehensive plan to improve the overall infrastructure and permanently solve the water drainage issues in Chhapra.
Reportedly, two main drainage systems are planned. The first drainage system proposes to construct an outflow along the Siwan-Hajipur railway section to Chhapra gramin station while the second one has proposed renovating and developing the existing outflow drainage from the Dudhiya pond to Tail river. Additionally, a sewage treatment plant will be built on the north of the Tail river with catchment drains.
