The Meghalaya government has laid the foundation stone for the implementation of the Greater Tura Urban Water Supply Scheme in Meghalaya on January 27, 2025. One of the key features of the scheme is zonal reservoirs with capacities of 200,000-600,000 litres. These are expected to help in the efficient distribution of water to different parts of Tura. The work is likely to be completed in two years at an estimated cost of Rs 3.98 billion.
