Karnataka Cabinet approves implementation of Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Programme

The Karnataka cabinet has approved the implementation of the World Bank-assisted Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Programme in Karnataka. The project will be implemented after approval from the Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India, and the signing of the loan agreement with the World Bank. The project aims to improve water security, sanitation, stormwater drainage, and early warning and forecasting services in Karnataka. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 50 billion, of which Rs 35 billion will be funded by a loan from the World Bank.
