The Karnataka Cabinet has approved construction of STPs under the World Bank-assisted Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Programme. These STPs will be developed in six zones to provide clean and sustainable sewage infrastructure to 110 villages under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s jurisdiction at an estimated cost of Rs 13.23 billion.
