The centre has sanctioned Rs 2.23 billion for road and bridge projects in Andhra Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Gramme Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Phase-III.
Guntur district was given the largest share of Rs 1.43 billion, while the remaining districts were given Rs 804.1 million. The cost sharing ratio is 60:40 between the centre and the state government.
At a total cost of Rs 1.23 billion, 20 road projects totalling 138.93 km will be constructed, with Rs 493.8 million coming from the state and Rs 740 million from the centre. With an investment of Rs 1 billion, which includes Rs 287.4 million from the centre and Rs 714.5 million from the state, four bridges with a combined length of 1,036.22 meters are to be constructed.
At an estimated cost of Rs 892.4 million, around 12 road projects spanning 78.51 km have been approved in Guntur. For this, the state will provide Rs 357 million, while the centre will contribute Rs 535 million. About Rs 540 million has been allocated for a major bridge project at Annvaram Dalitwada via Thumuluru and Hanumanpalem, of which Rs 103.6 million comes from the centre and Rs 436.4 million from the state.
