Chennai Metro Rail Limited submits DPR for corridor V extension under Chennai metro phase II project 

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has submitted the detailed project report (DPR) for the extension of corridor V from Koyambedu to Avadi and further to Pattabiram, to the Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) under the Chennai metro phase II corridors IV, V extension project. The extension is likely to span 21.76 km with 19 elevated stations entailing an investment of Rs 97.44 billion.

The corridor will pass through key locations like Padi Pudhu Nagar, Mogappair, Ambattur, Thirumullaivoyal and Avadi. It is also expected to enhance connectivity with Ambattur Estate Terminus, Avadi Railway Station, Avadi Bus Terminus and Outer Ring Road (ORR).
