Central Railway (CR) has achieved savings of Rs 6.9 billion in 2024-25 through the implementation of open access power procurement. This method involves the direct purchase of power from cost-effective sources such as power exchanges, generators or bilateral agreements.
Further, the zone has achieved cumulative savings of Rs 60.05 billion from 2015-16 to 2024-25 by using this method.
