Around 99 acres of land to be acquired for Visakhapatnam metro project 

About 99 acres of land is likely to be acquired for the Visakhapatnam metro project with an investment of Rs 8.82 billion. Of this, 47 acres belong to the state government, 36 acres to the Visakhapatnam Port, four acres to railways, three acres to central government and the remaining nine acres are privately owned.

The Visakhapatnam metro project involves development of a 46.23 km rail transit in Visakhapatnam in  Andhra Pradesh. It spans across three corridors namely, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to Kommadi (corridor 1, 34.40 km), Gurudwara Junction to Old Post Office (corridor 2, 5.08 km), and Thatichetlapalem to China Waltair (corridor 3, 6.75 km). The project entails an investment of Rs 114.98 billion.
