The cabinet approved the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy 2025 on February 18, 2025.
According to the policy, an airport will be built every 150 km and a ‘pucca’ helipad will be built every 45 km radius in the state. Further, the state government would provide a grant of Rs 0.75 million to aviation companies for every new domestic flight operation connecting Madhya Pradesh to other states, and Rs 1 million will be provided for every new international flight.
The policy is aimed to attract tourism in Madhya Pradesh and improve connectivity. The development of civil aviation is also aimed to ensure that products from the landlocked state are transported to ports in time.
