Maersk and Cochin Shipyard collaborate to explore opportunities in ship repair and shipbuilding in India

A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) and Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration in ship repair, maintenance, and construction in India. This strategic alliance aligns with the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 goals and the initiatives laid out in the recent union budget FY 2025-26 aimed at positioning the country among the world’s top five maritime hubs.

As part of this MoU, Maersk will leverage its global fleet expertise to enhance CSL’s capabilities, with a key focus on container ship maintenance, repair, and drydocking operations. The MoU also includes joint training programmes on responsible practices and skill development initiatives for CSL employees and Maersk seafarers.
