The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has commenced trial runs of Namo Bharat trains for Meerut South – Shatabdi Nagar stretch under the Meerut metro rail project, on February 9, 2025.
The Meerut metro rail spans 23 km including 18 km of elevated and 5 km underground stretch. It has 13 stations (Meerut south, Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahmpuri, Meerut Central, Bhainsali, Begumpul, MES Colony, Daurli, Meerut North, Modipuram and Modipuram Depot). The project will have 13 stations, of which nine are elevated, three are underground and one is at grade station.
