The Madurai Municipal Corporation (MMC) is planning to upgrade the existing underground drainage (UGD) network in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. A study for the same has been conducted covering 72 wards.
The project aims to upgrade the existing UGD network and installation of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for efficient monitoring of drainage network leaks in two phases at an estimated cost of Rs 2,000 million.
