Various testing procedures underway for Motijheel-Kanpur Central stretch under Kanpur metro project phase I

Various testing procedures across encompassing signaling, traction, track, rolling stock and electrical systems departments are underway for the Motijheel-Kanpur Central stretch under the Kanpur metro rail project phase I.

Besides, other crucial tests such as pico test, partial acceptance test (PAT) and system acceptance test (SAT) related to signalling have also been conducted on the stretch. Meanwhile, brake system, bogie system, coupler system and wheel and axle configurations have been evaluated to ensure safety standards for rolling stock.

The Kanpur metro project involves development of a 33 km long metro rail system in Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 110.76 billion.
