The Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam has decided to lay new water supply pipelines from Ganga Barrage in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Currently, the trial has commenced by excavating the site to lay a parallel line.
The scope of work includes laying of 10 km new water supply pipeline from Company Bagh to Phool Bagh and Company Bagh to Bara Devi via Rawatpur and Dada Nagar with diameter ranging from 1,400 mm to 1,800 mm. This will replace the old narrow pipelines to accommodate water supply needs for about 4 million residents in the area at an estimated cost of Rs 1.32 billion.
