Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai allocates funds for various road projects in Maharashtra

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) allocated funds for various road projects in Maharashtra on February 4, 2024.

  • Versova-Dahisar Link Road (Mumbai Coastal Road Project Phase ll): Around Rs 40 billion has been allocated to bridge department for the project.

This project involves the construction of a 22.91 km eight-lane Mumbai coastal road from Versova to Dahisar in Maharashtra at an estimated cost of Rs 180 billion. MCGM is implementing the project on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode in six packages. Additionally, Rs 15.16 billion has been allocated for the completion of the remaining work and maintenance of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project (south), which opened for operations in March 2024.

  • Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) Tunnel Project: Around Rs 19.58 billion has been allocated for the project.

This project involves construction under four phases (I: RoB, II: widening and improvement, III A: flyovers, III B: twin tunnel, IV: flyover, among others). Along with this, Rs 31.11 billion has been allocated for road concretisation project in the state.
