Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) recorded a substantial increase in container volumes, handling 635,665 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in January 2025, an increase of 23.21 per cent rise as compared to January 2024. During April-January period of FY 2024-25, the port handled 6,013,086 TEUs of containers, an increase of 14.08 per cent as compared to the corresponding period of FY 2023-24. Besides, JNPA handled 641 container rakes in January 2025, as compared to 542 container rakes in January 2024.
The port recorded 7.92 million tonnes of total cargo in January 2025, an increase of 17.77 per cent as compared to January 2024. Overall, JNPA recorded 76.29 million tonnes of total cargo during April-January period of FY 2024-25, an increase of 7.99 per cent as compared to the corresponding period of FY 2023-24.
