MoRTH sanctions funds for Walajapet/Ranipet-TN/ AP Border Four Lane Access Control Highway Project in Tamil Nadu

The central government has approved Rs 13.38 billion for the development of a 28 km access controlled highway on NH-40, connecting Walajapet/Ranipet to the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. The project will feature a four-lane main carriageway with paved shoulders, two-lane service roads on both sides, a 10 km bypass for Walajapet/Ranipet, four major bridges and two railway over bridges. The project is strategically aligned with the completion of the Ranipet Special Economic Zone in 2025 and aims to boost economic activity while ensuring smooth local traffic flow through dedicated service roads.
