JK Cement has acquired a 60 per cent stake in Saifco Cement for Rs 1.74 billion. The move comes amid the company’s expectation of increased construction activity in Jammu and Kashmir where the company is headquartered. Further, the company reported that per capita consumption of cement in the region is 150-160 kg compared to the 300 kg national average, indicating significant growth potential.
