The new Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam 2024 has reportedly come into force from January 1, 2025. The new act was cleared by the Rajya Sabha in December 2024 and aims to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act, 1934. It aims to facilitate the domestic designing and manufacturing of aircraft, and the ease of doing business. It also includes the regulation and control of the design, manufacturing, maintenance, possession, use, operation, sale, export and import of aircraft and related matters. The act also removes redundancies.
