HMM has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority to support the development and operation of Vadhavan Port. With a natural depth of 20 metres, the port will be able to accommodate HMM’s 24,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) vessels and provide strong connectivity to India’s inland logistics network. It will handle 23 million TEUs annually and include nine container terminals.
HMM is a South Korean container shipping company. With this collaboration, HMM plans to strengthen its service in India and enhance its port business competitiveness.
