The Northeast Frontier Railways has completed the final location survey for the Rangpo-Gangtok New Rail Line Project in Sikkim. The track construction is likely to be commenced as the second phase of Sevoke-Gangtok rail link after the approval from the Railway Board.
The project involves construction of a 34.7 km long new broad-gauge line connecting Rangpo to Gangtok in Sikkim. It is an extension to the Sevoke-Rangpo New Rail Line Project.
