A new station has been proposed at Sahakarnagar-Bibvewad under the Swargate-Katraj metro rail project in Maharashtra.
Besides, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) is likely to conduct feasibility studies for Balaji Nagar and Sahakarnagar-Bibvewad stations soon.
The Swargate-Katraj metro project is planned to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 29.54 billion. It involves extension of corridor 1 (Pimpri-Chinchwad-Swargate) of the Pune metro rail project phase I from Swargate to Katraj. Earlier, the metro was 5.46 km long and had three underground stations viz. Gultekdi Market Yard, Padmavati and Katraj but a new station Balaji Nagar has also been proposed under the same. It will be implemented by the Maha Metro.
