Five-arm Pardi Flyover in Nagpur set to open in February 2025

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to fully open Nagpur’s unique five-arm Pardi Flyover by mid-February 2025. Initially estimated to cost Rs 4.48 billion, the project faced multiple setbacks, including design changes, utility shifting, and a span collapse in 2021, escalating costs to over Rs 6 billion.

The 7-km, four-lane flyover, dubbed the “khekada flyover” for its crab-like design, has already opened three arms namely, Itwari, Kalamna, and Bhandara Road, in September 2023. The remaining arms, connecting the Central Avenue and Manewada, are nearing completion, with most roadwork finalised. Upon completion, the flyover will enhance connectivity between Central Avenue, Kalamna Market, Bhandara, Manewada, and Itwari, alleviating congestion and improving traffic flow across East Nagpur.
