Indian Railways completes trial run of Vande Bharat sleeper train on Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad route 

Indian Railways (IR) completed the trial run of the 16-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper train on the Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad route of Western Railway on January 15, 2024. The train attained the highest speed of 130 kmph (km per hour) during the confirmatory oscillograph car run (COCR) trial. The train features a combined gangway for smooth movement, dog boxes at both ends, and hazard-level 3 (HL3) coaches, among other enhancements. Moreover, it includes 11 air-conditioned (AC)-3 tier coaches, four AC-2 tier coaches and one AC-1 tier coach.

Besides, the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) is expected to issue the final certification after analysing the results of the trial.
