Jindal Water Infrastructure Limited (JWIL) has won a contract worth Rs 2,070 million for augmentation of the Ayodhya water supply scheme (WSS) from the Saryu river under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0. Bids for the same were invited by the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam in January 2024.
The scope of work includes survey, soil investigation, construction of intake well cum pump house, raw water rising main, water treatment plant (WTP) having capacity of 100 million litres per day (mld), clear water feeder main, rising main and other related infrastructure.
The work is likely to be completed in two years.
