Around 113 road projects worth Rs 24.20 billion have been approved in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand under the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP), launched in 2023 to develop border areas of India and China. The central government has allocated around Rs 48 billion for the period 2022-2026, which includes Rs 25 billion earmarked for road connectivity.
The VVP also facilitated around 6,000 different activities, fostering local development in 19 border districts across Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh.
