Indian Railways has developed a hydrogen train engine with a capacity of 1,200 horsepower (hp). The engine has been developed indigenously and is one of the most powerful in its category, with other countries having operating engines with capacities of 500-600 hp.
Besides, the engine manufacturing has been completed, and system integration work is in progress.
