Indian Railways (IR) has generated revenue of Rs 1.93 trillion during April-December 2024, an increase of four per cent over corresponding period of the last year. This includes freight revenue of Rs 1.26 trillion and passenger revenue of Rs 559.88 billion. Moreover, capital expenditure of Rs 1.92 trillion was recorded for April-December 2024, reflecting an increase of two per cent over corresponding period of the previous year.
Besides, IR registered freight loading of 1,179 million tonnes (mt) during this period, which is a two per cent increase compared to last year.
