Air India launches in-flight Wi-Fi services

Air India has become the first airline in India to offer in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity on both domestic and international flights, effective January 1, 2025.

The service is available on its widebody Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-9 fleets, as well as select Airbus A321neo aircraft. Passengers can connect using Wi-Fi-enabled devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones operating on iOS or Android.

The in-flight Wi-Fi allows guests to connect multiple devices simultaneously once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet. This rollout follows a pilot programme for international flights to destinations like New York, London, Paris, and Singapore. During an introductory period, the Wi-Fi service will be complimentary for passengers.

Further, Air India plans to gradually extend this service to additional aircraft in its fleet over time.
