Satna airport in Madhya Pradesh receives DGCA license 

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a license to the Satna Airport in Madhya Pradesh on December 23, 2024. The airport is now the seventh airport in the state. The development of the airport aligns with the UDAN scheme. It would initially cater to 19-seater aircraft, and has the capability to be expanded based on the demand and commercial viability.

Development works under the airport included the construction of a runway spanning 1,200 x 30 metres, a terminal building, air traffic control tower, an apron, taxiway, and fire station. The airport would also feature various security installations and passenger amenities.

The airport’s inauguration, and the commencement of flights are expected soon.
