Centre lays foundation stone and inaugurates various rail projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat 

The Union Government has laid the foundation stone for the Bhatinda-Bhildi Railway Line Doubling Project. It involves doubling of existing 752.2 km rail line between Bhatinda and Bhildi via Sirsa, Hisar, Ratangarh, Degana, Luni and Samdhari in Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 75.22 billion.

Besides, the centre inaugurated sections of various rail projects. These are:

  • Bhildi-Samdari-Luni-Jodhpur section of the Suratgarh-Phalodi-Bhildi including Phalodi-Jaisalmer Railway Electrification Project. It involves electrification of 902 km long Suratgarh (Biradhwal)-Phalodi-Bhildi railway line including Phalodi-Jaisalmer section in Rajasthan and Gujarat with an investment of Rs 9.16 billion.
  • Jodhpur-Degana section of the Bikaner-Merta-Jodhpur and Merta-Phulera Railway Line Electrification Project. It involves electrification of the existing 424 km rail line between Jodhpur-Merta and Merta-Phulera in Rajasthan.
  • Ratangarh-Degana Rail Electrification Project involved electrification of a 142.89 km long railway line between Ratangarh and Degana stations in Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 1.22 billion.
