The Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) to provide funds worth Rs 15.3 billion (USD 200 million) under the Nagpur metro rail project phase-II on December 17, 2024.
Besides, the funding will be facilitated through the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The project involves expansion of the metro network in Nagpur, Maharashtra as phase II by 43.8 km to provide connectivity to nearby towns and villages. The estimated cost for the project is Rs 67.08 billion.
