Western Railway (WR) has commenced land acquisition for the Pushkar-Merta new line project.
The project involves laying a 60.73 km long railway line from Pushkar to Merta in Rajasthan. The proposed new line will provide direct connectivity from central India to northern India as well as to the western border. Further, it will decongest and reduce pressure on highways.
