The trial runs on New Ashok Nagar-Sarai Kale Khan and Meerut (south)-Modipuram stretches under the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut regional rapid transit system (RRTS) project are likely to commence in March 2025.
Besides, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has applied for final safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety on Sahibabad-New Ashok Nagar stretch under the project. This stretch is anticipated to commence operations soon.
The project involves development of 82.15 km RRTS connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh with an investment of Rs 302.74 billion.
