Hyderabad Airport launches AI-powered digital twin platform with APOC

The GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered digital twin platform with a next-gen airport predictive operation centre (APOC), being the first airport in the country to do so.

The APOC, which is powered by the digital twin platform, would enhance the flying experience of passengers by leveraging technologies including AI and real-time prescriptive analytics. Various airside, landside, and terminal operations would be integrated into a unified system. Further, it will use IoT and sensors to collect data on more than 40 parameters, and leverage real-time data for faster decision-making. The APOC reportedly targets to save costs and enhance efficiency, passenger experience, and safety aspects.

GMR Airports also has plans for the technology to be deployed at the Delhi Airport soon. Further, all GMR-operated airports are to adopt this digital twin platform as a standard operating model in a phased manner.
