First validation flight lands at Noida International Airport 

The Noida International Airport (NIA) in Uttar Pradesh witnessed the landing of the first validation flight on December 9, 2024.

The flight was carried out by the IndiGo airline using an Airbus A-320 aircraft. The move marks a milestone in the airport’s efforts towards operational readiness. With the validation flight, the approach and departure procedures of the airport were confirmed, ensuring accuracy of the navigational aids and air traffic control systems.

The airport is targeted to be operational by April 2025 and will feature one runway and a terminal with a capacity to handle 12 million passengers per annum (mppa) as part of the first phase.
