The centre’s current highest priority is the development of good infrastructure in the country. Currently, around 75 tunnel projects by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) entailing investment of Rs 490 billion are under construction in the country.
Further, there are around 78 upcoming tunnels projects worth Rs 1.10 trillion which would cover a distance of 285 km. Moreover, the NHAI has already completed around 35 tunnel projects of 49 km in length costing Rs 200 billion.
