The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs conducted inspections on Delhi section (Sarai Kale Khan-Anand Vihar) of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut regional rapid transit system (RRTS) project on December 1, 2024.
Also, a solar power plant at the Ghaziabad station has been inaugurated. It is the largest solar power plant installed by National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). This is a part of NCRTC’s broader vision to transform its stations, depots and substations into solar power generation hubs, in order to significantly reduce carbon footprint.
The project involves development of 82.15 km RRTS connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor in the states of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh with an investment of Rs 302.74 billion.
