The government of Telangana will focus on the development of an airport at Kothagudem in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. Around 950 acres have been identified for the same. Further, the state government has urged the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to carry out a pre-feasibility study for the airport.
Reportedly, all details including the location and 10 years of weather data have been submitted by the state’s Industries Department to the central government for study.
The airport comes as a requirement given that it is located at a distance of around 270 km from Hyderabad, bringing out the need for better connectivity.
