The 7.5 km elevated section (Tavarekere-Gottigere) of Reach 6 (Gottigere-Nagawara) under the Bengaluru metro rail project phase-II is likely to be operational by December 2025.
Besides, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) is likely to deliver the first trainset for the elevated stretch by June 2025. About 70 per cent of track laying works have been completed on the stretch as well and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is likely to complete all the civil works by March 2025.
Additionally, work on the 13.86 km underground section is expected to be completed by 2026 and track laying works have been completed on about 4 km of the section.
The project involves construction of four extensions and two new lines covering a length of 72.09 km (13.79 km underground and 58.3 km elevated), in Karnataka at an investment of Rs 306.95 billion.
