Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (UPJN) is set to install 15 new tube wells and repair the 70 existing ones to ensure a continuous water supply in the upcoming Maha Kumbh festival in Prayagraj. The estimated cost of these works along with the installation of 30 generator sets and stabilisers is Rs 110 million. This initiative will help to ensure round-the-clock water availability during the festival.
Additionally, the initiative also involves laying of a comprehensive network of water pipelines to connect pumping plants across all sectors. The works are expected to be completed by November 30, 2024.
