The Chennai Metro Rail Limited has completed 100 per cent of piling work along the 8 km stretch of corridor 4 as part of its phase 2 project.
This stretch includes five single-decker and four double-decker stations, supported by 2,255 piles designed to transfer structural loads to deeper soil layers, ensuring stability and durability.
The orange line (corridor 4) of Chennai metro’s phase 2 spans 26 km, connecting Poonamallee Bypass to Lighthouse and significantly enhancing intra-city connectivity. The corridor will feature 28 stations, with 10 underground and 18 elevated.
