Work on Digha and Kankarbagh STP projects to be completed by December 2025

The construction work on the Digha and Kankarbagh Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) projects under the National Mission of Clean Ganga is likely to be completed by December 2025. Currently, 48 and 46 per cent of construction work has been completed on  Digha and Kankarbagh projects, respectively.

The scope of work includes construction of a 100 million litres per day (mld) STP and 288 km long sewer network in Digha including operation and maintenance (O&M) for a period of 15 years at an estimated cost of Rs 8,240 million.

The scope of work for Kankarbagh STP project includes construction of a 50 mld STP and 150 km long sewer network including 15 years of O&M at an estimated cost of Rs 5,788.9 million. The project is being implemented on a hybrid annuity basis and is being funded by the World Bank.
