Indian Railway (IR) has achieved total freight loading of 131 million tonnes during October 2024, an increase of 1.5 per cent over the freight loading in October 2023. Further, during 2024-25 (till October 2024), it recorded cumulative freight loading of 906.9 mt, which is 2.2 per cent higher than the corresponding period of the last year.
Besides, commodity wise, during October 2024, IR registered an increase of 7.7 per cent in containers loading, 7 per cent in miscellaneous goods loading, 7 per cent in clinker loading, and 4.3 per cent in coal loading, among others.
