The central government has approved Rs 10.14 billion for key road and highway projects across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa to improve connectivity and safety. Telangana has been granted Rs 5.16 billion for constructing a 14-km, 4-lane bypass around Nalgonda Town on NH 565, aimed at reducing congestion and enhancing connectivity between Nakrekal and Nagarjuna Sagar.
In Andhra Pradesh, around Rs 4 billion has been announced for developing 13 state roads covering 200.06 km under the Centre for Research in International Finance (CRIF) scheme. Additionally, Rs 980 million has been sanctioned for a 4-lane road over bridge (ROB) on the Guntur-Nallapadu railway section, under the CRIF Setu Bandhan scheme for 2024-25.
Besides, Rs 5.57 billion has been earmarked for a 9.60 km, 4-lane expansion on NH-748 from Ponda to Bhoma in Goa, enhancing connectivity between Panaji and Ponda, and facilitating access to Dabolim Airport and Mormugao Port.
